"The law doesn't stop at the border — and neither do athletic careers."
Terrik St. Claire approaches sports law with the perspective of someone who has competed professionally. Before his career in international legal work, he played professional basketball in France and Luxembourg, gaining firsthand experience of the opportunities and demands of an athletic career abroad.
An international legal counsel with a background in international business and entertainment law, Terrik holds Juris Doctor and Master of Laws degrees. He has worked with U.S. law firms on matters involving athletes, artists, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and executives whose professional activities cross national borders.
Terrik is the author of The International Practitioner's Sports Law Handbook, scheduled for publication in January 2027. The book examines athlete representation, contractual relationships, liability, eligibility, and the legal frameworks governing domestic and international competition.
Through this website, Terrik brings together his experience in sport and his legal interests to explore the decisions that shape athletic careers. His aim is to make sports law more understandable and useful to athletes, their advisers, and the organizations that support and govern competition.
